Best movie ever. I've lost count of how many times I've watched it. "Mawage is what bwings us togever today." I die with laughter every time. So many great scenes.
I had to read the book in 8th grade, but I don't remember much about it. I just bought it recently hoping for a re-read. We'll see if it stands up to the amazing movie.
Ha Ha. I love the movie but, like you, haven't read the book. I have it sitting on my shelf though, so that counts for something, right? That said, I know several people who have read the book and they say the movie is much better.
I love the movie. I started the book. Don't know why I didn't finish it, but there it sits, waiting for me to read it when I'd much rather watch the movie again.
How's this - I didn't even know there was a book! And I"m a huge fan of the movie. My kids even quote it how... "Stop now, I mean it!" "Anybody want a peanut?" I wonder if the book is as satirical as the movie- I'm with you, I wouldn't want to read it now.
OHHH yes, I absolutely agree!! I love the film since I was little, but this summer I read the book, ¡¡and it was wonderful!! What a delight!! My favourite book and film ever!! :)
I solemnly swear that I *will* get to the book sooner rather than later :) I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who hasn't read it! Now I'm curious how long the book was out before the movie was released. It seems a lot of us haven't read the book/didn't know there WAS a book. That's kinda crazy.
Hmm, what can I say other than that I didn't like the book particularly, and not the movie either... I know I'm a minority.
ReplyDeleteTo each their own! :D I love the movie so SO much that I'm almost afraid to read the book.
DeleteI'm glad we share that secret! I don't think I've read the book either...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one ;)

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the movie or read the book!
ReplyDeleteBut I have to say that Matilda by Roald Dahl was an outstanding book and they did a really great job with that movie as well!
This is one of my favorite movies ever!! I love it so much. Lol. My brother and I can quote the whole darn thing, to the annoyance of my husband.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a good one! I haven't ever gotten tired of the movie!

I've heard of the movie, though I didn't realise it was so old. I think I ought to get to it sooner than planned.
ReplyDeleteIve seen this movie - but have not read the book :)
ReplyDeleteI'm really amused by this movie, but I haven't ever read the book either. I probably should eventually!
